Comes to visit us as part of the Sporting Champions award, Beth will be helping some of our Gymnasts and helping those who would like to be a gymnast try out.

We need your TESCO sports vouchers, they can be left at the community centre. They are important to us as we can buy some of the smaller items that help us to coach.

The Saturday sessions will finish for a short summer holiday, they will return on Saturday 8th September from 1.00pm to 2.00pm.
Our Tuesday evening sessions will continue throughout the summer holidays.

We recently has the new Mayor of vale royal to visit us, he kindly presented us with our GYM MARK plaque from British Gymnastics; 1 of 200 clubs in the UK to have one. He also presented Beth Merrell and Shannon Dickenson for completing their proficiency awards
The MP MIke Hall also presented new medals to Samantha Lyon and Jessie Morris, for completing their proficiency awards.
Since then Neve Squirrell and Beck Glaze have also passed their proficiency awards, Alex Butler has also been presented with an award.

Great news for the club we have secured funding of £12,200, this will be spent on the following. Trampoline, Asymmetric bars, full height balence beam, new floor area, junior spring board, and crash mats. There are still places to be filled. We will if support is strong hold a session at 4pm on the Tuesday , please ask to have your name put on the list.
There is now approx 100 permanent members, we have said we would try and never have a waiting list but would accommodate with hours to suit classes.




The club was founded in March 2000 with a Lottery grant for equipment.
We run sessions by a qualified BAGA coach Charlie Oaks, and our assistant coaches Niall, Jayne, Kate, Becky and Josie
There are 3 sessions every Tuesday.

session 1 runs from 5 to 6pm.
session 2 runs from 6 to 7pm.
session 3 runs from 7 to 8pm.

Gymnasts will pay at the beginning of each month, with payments for a 4-week month being £12 and payments for 5-week month being £15.
Gymnasts who do more then the one-hour will pay a percentage rate of the extra hours.
This will supersede all previous pricing plans


Plus membership of British gymnastics is £17.00 from 1st October to 30th September 2008.

Bag packers are needed to do a stint of packing at the village Co-op store in October.




first hour 5pm to 6pm for the younger children 4 years to about 8 years
second hour 6pm to 7pm for children from 6 years up to about 10 years
third hour 7pm to 8pm for children with expertise and older children
Club clothing
We have set up a deal with clothing supplier The Zone to supply us with a new Navy Blue Velour Leotard with scoop neck and long sleeves, which can be ordered through the club only. Depending on size the cost is £23 for most sizes, only the larger size are slightly more.

Scrunchies are now available to match the velour leotards at £3.00 each

We also have a club Track-suit which will match the leotard in colour with zipped bottoms, the top is embroidered on the back with WEAVERHAM GYMNASTICS CLUB and WGC on the front and the cost is for the largest size is £47 complete.
The embroidery is on hold just yet until we can find a better service, the track suits can still be ordered.



Tuesday 3rd October 2000

Thanks to a Lottery Award that helped to found the club in March this year, 38 awards were presented to 23 gymnasts of all ages who attend the club regularly every Tuesday evening for coaching by Charlie Oakes a B.G. qualified coach. Mike Hall MP presented the awards. who was impressed at how well the club had done in such a short time, and how dedicated the gymnasts are. They were watched by parents and invited local people who support the centre.
